- Le Colorado provençal
The site owes its name to the abbot Martel who named it for the incredible colors that recall those of the American canyon, but especially because Colorado means red in Provencal. In the heart of Colorado, the colors enchant the eyes. The whole range of ochres (yellow, red, orange, up to green and mauve) is present. The landscape (cliffs, chimneys, cirques and hills) is the result of the exploitation of ochre that was done in the past. Today the quarries form a grandiose site much appreciated by hikers and walkers.

- The wall of plague
In 100 days, at the request of the Pope’s Vice Legate, a 27 km long wall was built to protect the inhabitants of Marseille from a terrible plague introduced by the Great Saint Antoine, a ship that came from the east in 1720. This line stretched from Cabrières d’Avignon and Lagnes in the south to St Hubert in the north, passing through Venasque and Méthamis. This wall of 2 m high is built stone by stone without any binder. Brought out of oblivion by the volunteers of the association Pierre sèche en Vaucluse, the wall and its sentry boxes are, at an altitude of nearly 900m, a magnificent observation point of the Vaucluse landscape.

- The Régalon Gorges
The Luberon has a rather surprising concentration of gorges and canyons, but the one of Regalon is undoubtedly the most spectacular of all. For a long time forbidden following an over-frequentation, the itinerary which rushes along this canyon today dry is reopened to the public since recently. Between hiking and caving, expect to be literally swallowed by the bowels of the Luberon.
These are artificial lakes created during the construction of the hydroelectric dam of Cadarache in the 1960s. They are located in the commune of Beaumont de Pertuis in the southern Luberon. The site offers the possibility to enjoy memorable fishing days in a preserved setting. A nature reserve, classified Natura 2000, it is a unique area, particularly interesting for the avifauna. Extents of pebbles and marshes allow the nesting of many birds. So bring a fishing card and a pair of binoculars.
Impossible to ignore! Majestic and sometimes frightening, “the giant of Provence”, fascinates many people. Classified as a biosphere reserve by Unesco, it is a remarkable natural site. To reach it, it takes about thirty minutes by car. At the top (1912 m) you will admire one of the widest panoramas in Europe overlooking the Rhone valley, the Provencal baronnies and the Vaucluse plateau. And if you try the night hike, you can even admire the Alps in the early morning!
This circuit leads to the top of the mourre nègre, the highest point of the Luberon (1115m), from the north, by detouring paths. A classic, sportive and bucolic climb ! The differences in level are there but the ascent is unreal and the panoramas of the crests, powerful. A real enchantment.
At the foot of the village of Murs stands the imposing dam of the ponds built in the 16th century, then 10 hydraulic mills with horizontal wheels follow one another at the bottom of the caves. The oldest ones would go back to the 16th century and the last ones worked until the end of the 19th century. It is a sportive hike where you will discover all along very varied and pleasant paths which alternate an undergrowth, basins in the bed of the Veroncle, of course the mills, some ladders and cables and an obligatory passage in the old chimney of a mill.
